Science Advances Reports New Progress from ECUST in Ischemic Stroke Treatment

Recently, the team led by Changsheng Liu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Associate Professor Yuanman Yu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at ECUST published an article titled “Inflamed vessel-anchored release of H? across the blood-brain barrier for ischemic stroke neuroprotection” in Science Advances. This study develops a selective vessel-anchored molecular hydrogen (H?) producing system. Without requiring nanoparticles to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB), the system provides exceptional neuroprotection for ischemic stroke, and was selected as a Featured Article for the current issue.

Associate Professor Yuanman Yu from ECUST and Dr. Mingjian Fan, a postdoctoral researcher from the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, are the co-first authors of this paper. Changsheng Liu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from ECUST, Researcher Wei Tang and Researcher Guanglin Li from the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Qianjun He from Shanghai Jiao Tong University serve as co-corresponding authors.
